Our Playspace

The best way to experience the Melrose Family Room is to visit! A current member family can host a visit for you, or you may contact us to arrange a visit. In the meantime, though, you can check out these photos of our space.

  • We have wooden peg puzzles as well as kid-friendly cardboard jigsaw puzzles including large-scale floor puzzles. These are in the book nook area.
  • Our infant area includes a nursing chair + ottoman, a bouncer, exersaucer, and infant-appropriate toys.
  • A selection of our action heroes!
  • Our book nook! We have books appropriate for all ages of kiddos at the MFR!
  • Our 'kitchenette' area in the front of the room. We have a mini fridge and freezer, microwave, water boiler and coffee maker, and a trash bin.
  • Our smocks, at the front of the room right inside the front door. There's also a chalkboard easel (behind.)
  • The art supplies cabinet. There are lots of goodies in here for many projects!
  • Some of our tables in the front / eating and crafts area. We have a supply of high chairs (right), a member information board (center rear), and a snack and cups/plates/utensils cabinet (left.)
  • Our dollhouse - fully furnished!
  • This area of the room is where we keep our action figures, including superheroes, soldiers, and space aliens!
  • The rear right corner of the room has a three-story doll house, shelving with musical instruments and potato head toys, and a basketball hoop with an assortment of balls.
  • This corner towards the rear of the room has our playhouse, a toolbench with toy tools (left side of the playhouse), a shelf with cardboard bricks and plastic castle parts, and gym mats.
  • In the rear of the room we have two slides. Behind the slides you'll see our member family photo board, and directly under that are the dress-up costume bins.
  • Our train table. We have many trains, buildings, bridges, and other fun train set parts to play with. A bin with extra tracks and trains + parts is stored underneath. Behind it is our birthday board.
